FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
My rates vary depending on a variety of factors, such as type of performance, location, equpiment, travel. The best thing to do is contact me directly with the details of your event, giving as much information as possible in order for me to reply with a quote.
2. DO WE NEED TO MEET WITH YOU BEFOREHAND?
For all bookings I prefer to speak with clients on the phone, via email or video chat such as FaceTime or Zoom. I am more than happy to answer questions and discuss ideas for a booking via these methods.
3. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS
Often I am booked up to 2 years in advance, although in most cases anywhere from 6 months to a year is plenty of time. Once a booking is confirmed I will send a booking confirmation with full terms and conditions. A PDF copy of my Terms & Conditions is available here:
4. WHAT LOCATIONS DO YOU COVER?
I am available for bookings worldwide, and have travelled extensively across the world for events concerts including places such as Los Angeles, The Maldives, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Kenya and Monaco. I am based in West London, for UK bookings I aim to stay within the M25 area primarily in order to make it more cost-effective for clients.
5. HOW LONG DO YOU PLAY FOR?
My bookings are based on the type of performance requested. On my bookings page you will see a list of the most comonly requested packages. The length of time I play generally depends on the type of package you book, therefore this can vary from anywhere from a short 15 minute featured performance to a 2 hour background music set. The maximum amount of time I can play at any given time is 3 x 45 minute sets. When booking I do require specific start and finish times.
6. WHAT SONGS DO YOU PLAY? CAN WE CHOOSE THE SET LIST?
My current repertoire list is available to download. You will find that it covers an extremely wide range of songs genres including Bollywood, Jazz, Pop, Soul, Funk, Chill-out, House, Latin, and many more. Having played for hundreds of events I have developed set playlists which work well for different performances. However, if you have specific genres or styles in mind let me know in advance.
7. DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS?
For specific event performances such as a Bride & Groom entrance or First Dance, I’m happy to learn a song provided it’s suitable for my instrument, and I can find a backing track. For all song requests I require at least a month in advance for preparation.
8. DO YOU PERFORM WITH OTHER MUSICIANS?
Yes. Whilst the majority of my bookings are as a solo musician or my Jazz trio, I’m often asked to play along with other musicians, bands and DJ’s, and have a large network of fellow musicians whom I regularly collaborate with. I’m more than happy to work with someone I’ve never met provided they are professional and are made fully aware and agree to such a request.
9. DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT?
Yes, for most events and situations where specified my rate is inclusive of my sound equipment. I have an LD Systems Maui 5 Go high end single column PA Speaker for events up to 150 guests, as well as a smaller Bose S1 Pro speaker. In addition to this I use AMT wireless / Shure Beta 98 microphones. Both my setups are designed to be fully portable and used up to 3-4 hours without a direct power supply. For the purpose of insurance and public liability, I do not allow anyone else to carry or operate my equipment, this includes a client asking to plug in their own music such as an iPod.
10. WHAT OTHER REQUIREMENTS DO YOU HAVE WHEN PERFORMING?
Generally, I arrive at least an hour before it's time to perform, in order to set up and sound-check. I require an area of approximately 2m x 2m to, and some space to move around if requested. I do need to be within a reasonable distance of the PA system to be able to hear the backing tracks. I would need a place to store my equipment and to get changed.
11. CAN WE COME AND SEE YOU PERFORM LIVE?
When undertaking private bookings I can’t guarantee it’s always possible to see me perform live. However, for all my public performances, such as stage concerts, public events or venues, you are more than welcome. Many of my clients enjoy coming to see me perform live, and if time permits I can have a chat at then end to discuss their events. 12. DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes, I have Public Liability insurance cover up to £1,000,000 through the Musicians Union of which I am a member.
